First Fruits Community Garden

“The best place to seek God is in a garden. You can dig for him there.” – George Bernard Shaw, The Adventures of the Black Girl in Her Search for God.
From God’s command to work and take care of the First Garden in Genesis 2, to understanding the desperate need that this country – and this world – has for a more robust connection to our food and our environment, we believe deeply that the garden is where God is. We currently garden in 10 4’x16′ garden plots whose purpose is to provide fresh, local, organic produce to the Hopelink Food Bank. We also enjoy making the produce available to our Safe Parking guests, many of whom enjoy working in the garden and sharing their gardening knowledge.
We believe that the wholesome activity of gardening will provide a healthful activity for all who participate, and simultaneously help those in need. For more information or if you have any questions, please contact Anne Buck.
